USYS PATHWAY AFFILIATION

Patriot FC is proud to follow the USYS pathway. USYS is the largest member of the US Soccer Federation with over 3 million youth soccer players and offers a strong, consistent, and developmentally-appropriate structure for its players.

Our travel teams (U7 - U19) compete locally in an EDP league from their Futures Program up through their USYS Conferences

This league affiliation provides benefits for every travel player in the club:

  • Flexible game-day rosters allow the club to make more offers to players in each age group.
  • Team-directed scheduling and minimized travel distances increase the number of games each player plays in, providing them more chances to practice their skills in game situations.
  • For our youngest players (U7 - U9) it provides them the opportunity to play in games which focus on developing a love for soccer, learning in a low-pressure environment, and building fundamentals.
  • For players aged (U9-U10) building on the foundation from the first two years, teams are organized into brackets based on development level. Geography is a consideration to limit the travel distance for games.
  • For players aged (U11-U12) they will be placed in a division with developmentally-appropriate competition. The goal is for them to be in a competitive game every time they step onto the field. The league aims to have an overall maximum goal differential of 2.
  • For players aged (U13-U19) success at the younger ages sets up teams to compete in the USYS National League Conferences, which offer opportunities for players to compete at the highest levels and in regional and national events.

TRAINING & COACHING

  • Every team will have a professional, game-day coach for leagues and tournament games, ensuring a consistent coaching voice and a focus on development.
  • Our full-time Director of Coaching, who has an "A" License and over a decade of experience leading a club, will provide mentorship to our training staff and oversee our year-round, developmentally-appropriate training program.
  • Our highly-credentialed training staff will provide professional training for every session, focusing on player development and mentoring.
  • Players and teams will train twice weekly during the season and once a week during the winter season, ensuring consistent development and progress
  • Middle and high school players will have cross-training opportunities with other teams, allowing them to participate in school sports and comply with birth-year restrictions
  • Goalkeepers will receive specialized training, focusing on building core fundamentals of the position, once weekly throughout the year, ensuring that they develop the skills they need to succeed.

FIELDS & FACILITIES

  • Year-round access to our local fields & facilities in Newtown and Upper Makefield Townships for your team’s home games and training sessions, including winter indoor space. You can find a list of fields and directions on our website.
  • Our primary training locations will be Council Rock High School North and The George School turf fields, providing predictable surfaces and minimizing weather-related cancellations.
  • By using turf fields for training, we can improve the overall condition of our grass fields for games and other soccer activities, ensuring better playing conditions for all teams.
  • Our full-time groundskeeper will handle all field maintenance and equipment movement, eliminating the need for volunteer commitments and ensuring that fields are always in top condition.

PLAYER PATHWAYS & LEAGUES

  • At Patriot FC, we believe in following the USYS pathway, which is the largest member of the US Soccer Federation with over 3 million youth soccer players. This pathway offers a strong, consistent, and developmentally-appropriate structure for players, ensuring that they receive the best training and competition possible. To learn more about why this pathway is right for your player, visit our website
  • Every travel team, from U7 to U19, will compete year-round in appropriate leagues locally or through  EDP, from their Futures Program up through their  USYS Conferences. League fees for both fall and spring are included in your registration fees.
  •  While it can be tempting to participate in an indoor winter league, we do not recommend it. It can be challenging to find the right level of competition, and we believe that winter is the perfect time to focus on a player's technical skills. Therefore, we encourage our teams to consider futsal or additional technical training sessions during the winter months.

TOURNAMENTS & STATE CUP

  • Tournaments provide players with additional opportunities to compete against teams they may not see in regular league play, helping them develop new skills and strategies. Tournament fees are included in the club registration.
  • Depending on their age group, teams can expect to participate in between 3 and 6 tournaments per year, giving them ample opportunities to showcase their skills and compete against top talent.
  • Teams may also choose to participate in overnight tournaments, coaching expenses covered. Families are only responsible for their own travel expenses, making it an affordable and enjoyable experience.
  • Teams may also compete in the State Cup competition, which occurs every spring. The decision to participate will be made by your coach in consultation with our Director of Coaching, ensuring that your team is prepared and ready to compete at the highest level

PARTNERSHIP & AFFILIATIONS

  • Team Genius Our coaches and trainers use Team Genius, a cutting-edge platform, to provide personalized, in-season feedback to players. With this technology, players can track their progress in technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of the game. They can expect to receive at least two formal evaluations during the season, which will help them grow and develop as athletes.

  • Soccer Parenting We believe that parents play an important role in their child's soccer journey. That's why we partner with Soccer Parenting, the leading resource for parent education, engagement, and sideline behavior. By accessing up-to-date and relevant content, parents can learn how to support their child's soccer experience and make it the best it can be.

ADMINISTRATION & TECHNOLOGY

  • At Patriot FC, we take care of all team administration, allowing coaches to focus on coaching and parents to enjoy watching their kids play.
  • We handle everything from player cards and state registration fees to insurance and referee fees, taking care of all the necessary details so your player can hit the field each season.
  • Our full-time Club registrar is available to answer registration questions, assist with player transfers, and help with any program administration needs.
  • Our mobile and web registration and technology platforms make it easy for parents and players to stay connected and up-to-date on schedules, news, and more.
  • We also cover all other administrative and miscellaneous costs associated with the day-to-day management of each program, so you can rest assured that your player is in good hands.

INDIVIDUAL EXPENSES

At Patriot FC, most of what your player needs is covered in the club registration fee. However, there are a few individual expenses that families should be aware of.

  •  Personal travel expenses, including transportation to and from games, tournaments, and hotels, are paid by families individually. Depending on the team, there may be one overnight tournament that require a hotel stay. Typically, away games are within one hour of Newtown, PA, but travel times may vary based on the team's competitiveness and league affiliation.
  •  Uniforms for travel soccer are available through our partner, Ewing Sports. The uniform package includes high-quality Adidas gear and costs about $185, covering the seasonal years of 2023-24 and 2024-2025. This includes home and away game kits (jerseys, shorts, and socks) as well as a jersey for training. Additional items such as warm-up jackets or pants, soccer bags, and winter jackets can be purchased as needed. Check with your team manager or coach for any items that may be needed but not included in the standard kit.
